2020 has been an incredibly challenging year for the world; with a global pandemic caused by the outbreak of COVID-19, Afghanistan has also struggled with an increase in violence and attacks against civilians. In September, peace talks between the Afghan government and the Taliban started in Doha, allowing negotiations on ending a nearly 20-year civil war to finally begin.
We would like to end the current year and to start 2021 with high hopes in the peace negotiations leading to a just and permanent peace for the people of Afghanistan.
